Since this video was released on Young Wise Tails, it’s actually a surf movie and not a music video. But because it brought my attention on this band called Pleasure, I’m going to see it as a live video with some really good surfing in it, not the other way around.
The band hails from Ojai, California. If you’re like me, you probably never heard of this place. A quick Google search reveals that this place is a little over an hour away from L.A. You can definitely hear the City of Angels’ influence in this track. Combining Black Sabbath-ish riffs, Allman Brothers guitar playing ability’s and a raw version of Blue Oyster Cult’s voice, Pleasure makes you think you never left the seventies.
Conner and Parker Coffin, the surfers featured in this clip and also the brains behind Young Wise Tails, say they choose this track because the music always got them psyched to surf these Hawaiian waves. A track of the band jamming live in a shed with only a handful people attending definitely sets the right mood to enjoy this mind baffling surfing.
For people who are not to keen on surfing, and just want to play the music in another tab while doing something else; let me warn you that there are some bikini-beach-babes involved in this video. Just so you know.
